Breakfast on Pluto is a 2005 film based on the novel of the same name, written by Patrick McCabe. This feature stars Irish actor Cillian Murphy as Patrick "Kitten" Braden, a transvestite orphan searching for her estranged mother, who moved off to London. Among her search, Kitten learns the values of acceptance and true love and tries to make sense of the "serious, serious, serious," world she's in. In the end, her search leads her back to her own small town in Ireland, with something that may be a little bit more rewarding than what she originally wanted.

Can I just say how beautiful Cillian Murphy is as a woman? Breakfast on Pluto is incredible. Most of Patrick McCabe’s works which has been made into film has been that way, especially The Butcher Boy. The music, the characters, the relationships… everything just works - and Liam Neeson as a priest is just an extra bonus.
She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had…

I’ve been such a fan of Ruth Negga since Breakfast on Pluto with Cillian Murphy and Liam Neeson. God, I love this movie and I love the friendship between Patrick and Charlie. They are always, always there for each other. I also love the fact that Neil Jordan loved Ruth’s acting so much that though her character was not in the original script he changed the script around so she could be in the film. How awesome is that?
